July 3rd Ellis Fireworks Sponsored by Cassill Motors

  • Ellis Park & Harbor area 2550 Ellis Boulevard Northwest Cedar Rapids, IA, 52405 United States (map)

The Cedar Boat Club is excited to announce the return of the Ellis Fireworks back to it’s historic date on Wednesday, July 3rd after dark. The Club has provided a free July 3rd fireworks display at Ellis Park & Harbor for more than 40 years, returning in 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The Ellis Fireworks have been an annual tradition for generations of Cedar Rapids families, with an estimated attendance of 40,000 residents and visitors.

Viewing Spots
The best viewing spots include the ski show bleachers, in front of Ellis Park, anywhere in Ellis Park, or on a boat. All viewing spots are completely free of charge. Boaters, please contact us with any questions you may have about the clear zones.

Food and Logistics
The Ellis Park area will boast a variety of food vendors opening in the afternoon, and if prime seating is a priority for you, get there early! Ellis Boulevard will close down to foot traffic only as the police officers providing event security determine the area is too populated for additional vehicle traffic.

Parking
Parking along Ellis is prohibited by the City of Cedar Rapids to maintain emergency access lanes. Free parking available in Ellis Park and surrounding residential streets. VIP/handicapped parking available in Ellis Pool and Ball Diamonds parking lots for a donation towards the 2025 Ellis Fireworks.

Pavillions
Rental of all Ellis Park Pavilions were required as a part of the event permit by the City of Cedar Rapids. The Pavilions will be provided as a part of certain corporate event sponsorships. If no sign is posted at the pavilion, it is open for public use.
